Uncovering the stories, systems and histories that have shaped Women of Ireland

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, wearing a white blouse and a brown skirt, standing outdoors on a rocky area with green trees and a bright blue sky in the background.

Hi, I’m Dr. Belinda Vigors,

Social Scientist | Qualitative Researcher | Cultural Theorist

I’m on a mission to help Women of Ireland understand how we have come to be the way we are, by uncovering the stories, histories and systems that have shaped us.

With a background in academia and a life-long passion for the revelatory power of myth and story, I believe cultural research can be soulful and rigorous at the same time.

My writing, research and workshops bring together the rigour of scientific research with the imaginative role of story to create spaces were Women of Ireland can more deeply connect with and understand the cultural conditions that have shaped them.

Join me as we uncover the socio-cultural reasons behind the generational patterns that have kept women of Ireland stuck in cycles of over-giving, over-silencing, over-responsibility and over-doing-it, and make space for a new story of womanhood to emerge.

Heart-led, scientifically rooted: Welcome to cultural research with soul

“And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering and then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding”
